MATTTEW

Originally from South Korea, Matthieu Duchene grew up in Belgium where he later studied industrial design at La Cambre for 5 years - the renowned visual arts & architecture school in Brussels - where he also specialised writing a thesis on eyewear during one year. He then became very passionate about eyewear and trying to bring his own creativity to designs to make the wearer feel unique and “inseparable” from their glasses. Matthieu always had a particular interested in materials, shapes, and manufacturing processes, both artisanal and industrial. His eyewear designs feature a lot of straight lines and sharpened angles and play with both solid materials and voids to offer eyewear that reflects his passion for art and architecture, offering creative and colourful eyewear designs with plenty of character.

The name MATTTEW comes from a play on Matthieu’s name, with a bit of a playful twist!

Each MATTTEW frame is the achievement of a huge amount of technical work, precise design and colour research to get to the highest quality product you’ll want to light up your face.
