Vinylize Eyewear was founded in 2004 by Zachary Tipton when he discovered piles of old and unused vinyl records in his dad’s garage and wondered how he could repurpose them into something that would be useful.

The first Vinylize frame was carved by hand from a 12" Creedence Clearwater Revival album and held together with cigar box hinges. Zachary then set out on a mission to manufacture eyewear from vinyl records, and not long after opened a factory with his brother Zoltan in Budapest, Hungary doing just that.

To date Vinylize have repurposed a whopping 40 tonnes of vinyl records since they began making them one of the most sustainable eyewear brands in the world!
